Bright yellow boards are decorated front & spine with tiny black dots, Quick Reference Index printed right on the front. Covers show gentle wear, tiny rubbed corners and edges, no cuts ot rips. Spine cover not torn. Binding secure, unbroken. If not for this mild coverwear book would be Very Good. Absolutely no damp! Gorgeous full-color photo endpapers are undamaged but for faint edgewear and almost unnoticeable tiny spots. Pages show slight to mild wear, a few minor spots, with very nice inset thumb-tabs. 2-page spread for title pages - across a rainbow, a young light-haired lady in candy-striped apron and a basket of fruits & vegetables near a farm field. Delightful chapter headings are full-page retro art in B&W of 1930's & 40's ladies cooking, entertaining, families, children, etc. No tears were found, no more than 10 tiny dogears. No tape, labels, or inserts. Only writing found was a recipe for biscuits handwritten in pencil on first blank page. The three closed edges are freckled with many little edgespots, none are large. Approx 9 tall x 6.25 wide x 2.75" thick, 966 pages plus an extensive index.

Beautifully clean, with thumb-tabs. Light shelfwear to dark green decorated boards, no fraying. Torn and edgeworn dustjacket has bits missing off top & bottom edges, is not stained, now in a mylar cover. The text block edges are speckled an olive green, perfectly clean. Undamaged photo endpapers, no folds, labels or writing. Pages are crisp and clean, close to perfect, no writing, spots, rips, or mending. NO KITCHEN SOIL! smells like cigarette smoke
